Finally, please forgive me for plugging my own blog. In addition to posting a lot of news stories and videos from the whole net, I am writing a lot of detailed posts on ethics based on my formal academic training in philosophy and my years of teaching ethics on the college level. I am putting up many of the ideas I have worked out in my dissertation and developing lines of thought which build on that work.

The vast bulk of serious work on ethics in the last century makes no reference to God or depends on him in any way. My goal in part is to expose wider audiences to that academic work so that they can see the resources for thinking about ethics which are readily available for non-theists. The other goal of my work is to work out my own ethics and directly make the ideas I'm generating available to atheists looking to develop a fuller picture of ethics from a creative and generally non-theist viewpoint.
