But mostly gays because they commit sin by "taking it up the tailpipe". Oh, and now I guess adultery, one of the ten commandments, includes gay sex..  (News to me)

I can't imagine they actually like hating freaking everything. I mean Elizabeth Taylor? Really? I think they just really like making and holding colorful signs..

Former Christian Camp Director Charged with Sex Crimes
Tuesday, Sep 15, 2009 @08:45am CDT

(Forsyth, MO) -- The former director of Kanakuk Christian Camps was charged Monday with four counts of sex crimes involving children under the age of 15.

Peter Daniel Newman, 33, is charged with two counts of sexual misconduct, statutory sodomy and enticement of a child.   (read the court documents in this case here)

The charges accuse Newman of criminal sexual conduct with male campers at Kanakuk Kamps in Branson between 1999 through 2009.

Court documents say Joe White, the owner of Kanakuk Kamps, fired Newman June 8 of this year.   A posting on the camp's blog in June said, "Pete Newman is no longer with Kanakuk Kamps. He is dealing with a personal family crisis. He has asked that you respect his privacy and not contact him or his family, but that you keep him in your prayers."
Investigators say boys who attended the camp said Newman had sleepovers, held Bible studies in his hot tub where some of the sexual contact occurred, and coaxed them into sexual acts.

A warrant for Newman's arrest was issued today,  (9/15/09) according to court records.

Kanakuk Kamps were founded in 1926 and has locations in Branson and Lampe, Missouri.

when religion overshadows common sense...  (I would say something about science but I would be beating a dead horse.)

50 People Go Blind After Staring At The Sun Trying To See The Virgin Mary

"THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, India: At least 50 people in Kottayam district have reportedly lost their vision after gazing at the sun looking for an image of Virgin Mary.

Though alarmed health authorities have installed a signboard to counter the rumour that a solar image of Virgin Mary appeared to the believers, curious onlookers, including foreign travellers, have been thronging the venue of the "miracle".

St Joseph"s ENT and Eye Hospital in Kanjirappally alone has recorded 48 cases of vision loss due to photochemical burns on the retina. 'All our patients have similar history and symptoms. The damage is to the macula, the most sensitive part of retina. They have developed photochemical, not thermal, burns after continuously gazing at the sun,' Dr Annamma James Isaac, the hospital's ophthalmologist, said.

The hospital has been receiving patients with these abnormal symptoms since Friday. When the doctors found a pattern in the case sheets, they reported it to the district medical officer.

The health department has now put up a signboard at the hotelier's house near Erumeli, where the divine image is said to have appeared, warning people against exposing their eyes to sunlight.

Even the churches in the vicinity disowned the miracle during Sunday mass after health officers and doctors approached the clergy. The house in question has been the centre of local rumours for a few months.  The hotelier, who has since moved to another house, had claimed that statues of Mother Mary in his house have been crying honey and bleeding oil and perfumes.

Though people have been flocking to the "blessed land" - hastily christened Rosa Mystica Mountain - for long, the mad rush for the image in the sky began a week ago.

There are quite a few people still seeking the miracle, despite the experiences of their unfortunate predecessors and strict health warnings against gazing at the sun with the naked eye.

'The patients show varying degrees of severity. They are mostly girls in 12-26 age group. Our youngest patient is 12 and the oldest 60. Most of them were looking at the sun between 2 and 4 pm, when UV1 and UV2 rays are harshest,"' Dr James Isaac said. He added that they could identify the problem as solar retinopathy because they were aware of the local sensation.

'Most patients may hopefully improve their vision. But there may be long-term effects on the retina,' he added."

"Deluded" French Muslim starves, beats his eight children

Motivation? Making them "better Muslims." "'Deluded' French Muslim charged with starving children," from the Telegraph, April 15:

A delusional French father has been charged with starving and beating his eight children in the belief that it would make them good Muslims.

Police were alerted after a neighbour spotted one of the children, a boy of 13 who weighed just 70lbs, foraging in bins for food in the Mediterranean town of Banyuls-sur-Mer.

"The teenager was painfully thin, shivering, with bloody marks on his face, bare feet and sores. He said he had been beaten for stealing a handful of sugar," said local prosecutor Jean-Pierre Dreno.

Searching the family apartment on Saturday police found seven other children, aged seven to 17, in a state of hunger and neglect, including two girls, aged 13 and 15, who each weighed just 22kg.

The boy and two sisters have been taken to hospital and the other siblings taken into care, while their parents have been detained on charges of depriving their children of food, and physical abuse.

The father, a market worker of Moroccan origin, and his wife, an east European Muslim convert, told police they sought to raise their family in strict obedience to Islam, which they said included going without food.

There were no food supplies in the flat and the eldest girls had been taken out of class because of a French law banning headscarfs in public schools.

"The parents explained that they practised their religion scrupulously, and with a very strict diet," said the prosecutor.

The 49-year-old father told investigators he had beaten his son to cure him "because he was possessed by lies."

"We are dealing with a delusional person, this is a cult-like situation," Dreno said. "This went way beyond any kind of religious practice, however rigorous."

Commenting on the case, the Paris Mosque said the father was clearly deluded in his interpretation of Islam, stressing that even during the fasting month of Ramadan, children are exempt, along with pregnant women and the elderly.
